Reach in PF2

Rules Discussion

Has how melee reach works changed in PF2? Or am I misreading this:

Weapons with this trait are long and can be used to attack creatures [b]up to 10 feet away instead of only adjacent creatures[b]. For creatures that already have reach with the limb or limbs that wield the weapon, the weapon increases their reach by 5 feet.

(bolding is mine of course)

Is the weapon reach donut effect (from PF1) gone? When I read that, "up to 10 feet away" includes anything shorter than that, so you can use a reach weapon to attack an adjacent foe without penalty.

That is correct. There is no dead space rule.
