Are there rules for hopping safely off a 10ft wall?
"When you fall more than 5 feet, you take bludgeoning damage equal to half the distance you fell when you land.
...If you take any damage from a fall, you land prone.
..." pg (463)
So, if you have no skills, you'll want to hang down first, then let go. If you just jump off, you'll take 5 bludgeoning and be prone.
Alternatively, you could jump off and attempt to Grab an Edge on the way down to slow your fall (reflex save)
Cat Fall is also available very early (potentially at level 1) to improve this.

Grabbing an Edge as you go is a very good idea. It means stepping off the edge will be one action (possibly done as part of a previous stride), grabbing the edge is a reaction, releasing your grip is a free action. That's enough to get you down a 10 foot ledge without taking damage and still have 2 actions left, which is pretty good.
