Bastion of the Inheritor (from Adventure Deck 5 in WOTR) has this power:
"Reveal this card to reduce Combat damage dealt to you by an amount equal to your number of mythic charges; you may also recharge a card that has the Iomedae trait to reduce all damage by that amount."
For the second part of that power, can the card with the Iomedae trait that you recharge be Bastion of the Inheritor itself? Reveal it, and then recharge it? I know you can't play a card for its powers twice on one check, but recharging it isn't playing it, it's just spending it as the cost for its power.

I'm pretty sure the Iomedae trait thing is *primarily* intended for the Bastion, the rest of the options is just bonus.
Otherwise, good catch about that recharge not being "playing the Bastion". So you should definitely be able to reduce any Combat damage by 2xMythic charges.
As for "all damage", there's something funky about that wording up there... The way it's written, sounds like you can only recharge an Iomedae card if you previously reveal the Bastion... but that can't be right.

I think it is exactly what it says: in order to do the second part (after the "also") of the power, you must have done the first (reveal).
For example, you cannot recharge to reduce someone else damage because the first part clearly states "dealt to you".

Yes, but as Longshot was inferring, the odd part is that the second part of the power reduces ALL damage, but the first part reduces Combat Damage.
But since the second part of the power is conditional on the first power also being used, the second part could only ever reduce Combat Damage, despite being worded as if it was meant to prevent other types.
I agree with Longshot on all accounts (and yes, if the armor itself has the Iomedae trait you can absolutely recharge it for that power... just it seems that the second part of the power may be almost useless as-written, unless you're taking 7+ combat damage).
