1st question:
Can Seelah discard a displayed armor for her character power that lets her discard an armor to add a die to a check?
I vaguely remember discarding only working on cards in hand (and displayed cards are not in hand), but couldn't locate a definitive answer in the rules, apologies.
2nd question:
The feat upgrades to this power: "[] if you would discard and armor or blessing for this power, you may recharge it instead."
This does NOT allow you to discard > recharge a blessing FROM HAND to activate this power right? The blessing (and spell feat addition) ONLY apply when discarded from the top of the deck correct?

A friend found the answer:
2nd page of the playing a card section
page 8
"If you are instructed to play, reveal, display, reload, discard, recharge, bury, banish, or otherwise manipulate a card, that card must come from your hand unless you are activating a power on a displayed card, in which case you activate it with the displayed card instead."

(The full text of the power, for reference to readers...)
On a local check, you may discard an armor or the top card of your deck to add 1d4 (□ 1d6) and the Magic trait. (□ If you would discard an armor or a blessing for this power, you may recharge it instead.) (□ You may also do so if you would discard a spell for this power.)
Correct on the answer to your first question - when you are told to do an action with a card that card must come from your hand unless explicitly stated otherwise. (So if a bane says "if undefeated, recharge a card", you don't get to heal from your discard pile, for example.)
As for your second question, that's also correct. If you discard an armor from your hand you would be able to recharge it, but the initial sentence is unchanged - you can only CHOOSE to discard an armor from your hand; anything else you manipulate is straight from the top of your deck, and your deck only.
