One of my player characters is being inducted into an order of knights, and they are pretty pumped about it.
Any advice on making this into an exciting, monumentus, and engaging roleplay scene?
Right now there is a rite that they must complete that they have a small chance of failing (I'm going the look at their stats and game the checks so that they have a high but not guaranteed chance of passing). Then I might write a ritual speach for the induction of a new knight, but I'm worried that that will just be making a poor monologue.
The order of knights is lawful neutral leaning good and are a small order in exile.
Any help is appreciated, I'm going to go consume any media I can involving knighting.

Make it a public scene if possible, with people who know about and supporting the knights present so they can meet the newest addition to their ranks. Let the townsfolk or whoever ooh and aah over the new knight.
If these knights have a divine patron, make sure there's some minor but noticeable sign of the god's favor. For example, if they had Pharasma as their patron, maybe at ceremony's conclusion everyone would hear the call of whippoorwills but be unable to locate the source.
If there's an important NPC or two around, use this as the opportunity to introduce themselves. Make contacts, establish those plot hooks! Or if they've done such an NPC a favor or two, maybe they pay the PC back by making sure there's a lavish party afterwards. Or they pay all the expenses of the ceremony out of pocket.

- Important NPCs will be there with something to say; I'll use this as a way to offload some rumors and news that they are concerned about.
- After the knighting they will be given their first 'Quest'. This is the exception not the rule as the Knights are a side plot.
- The Knight Order is pledged to aid the party, and now one of the party is pledged to serve the knight order. Any advice or real/fantasy examples of this looping chain of command?
- Having 'Evil Knights' raid the party is a great relief valve, especially after the new Knight is exhausted and wounded from his 'trials'. evil grin. However, this campaign has a theme of subterfuge (these knights are in exile) so I think I can only do this if the group is reckless and flaunts their actions. Or is a great chance to let the truthbomb slip that the enemy is scrying on them.
- Because the theme of subterfuge and knights in exile, this won't be public, but they have a ton of friends and allies that will be invited.
- The knights will gift a suit of armor that the character is not permitted to wear until they have completed their first mission... Cause the prestige class only grants access to this armor at it's second level??

"All right, Sir Noob, we've taken your measurements, now our master smith will make you personalized armor. In their professional opinion, it will be done just about the time you return from your first mission."

"Now that you are a trusted initiate and your oaths have been received, you will begin your training in the super-secret utilization of super-heavy-videogame-grade plate armor. Training will take a while so we advise against wearing into battle during this time."
