A dispute between two other players in our mid level pathfinder campaign:
Given the wording of destructive smite is the same as stunning fist and other abilities that can be declared prior to making an attack, can you declare one attack in a full attack to be a destructive smite in the same way, or is the ability limited to being used only on an attack made as a standard action?

It is a supernatural ability (activated as a standard action) that, when activated lets you make an attack (no action cost, free with the ability activation.)
The 'You must declare' is actually redundant since you have to activate the ability, but is doubtless included for clarity.
Stunning fist, by contrast, doesn't have any activation requirement.
