Does energy resistance affect internal damage?

Rules Questions

If a character with a form of energy resistance consumes that type of energy, would that type of damage be reduced?
For example if a character with acid resist 5 drank a bottle of acid that deals 1 d6 of damage would that damage be reduced by 5?
If so would this also apply to damage dealt from breathing in very hot or very cold temperatures?
If this is specified some where could someone tell where to find it please.

Damage from hot or cold environments was specified to be fire or cold damage respectively, and having energy resistance would reduce any damage taken from those environs. That would presumably include "breathing" in the air from those environments.

As far as consuming something that deals an energy damage...nothing says it doesn't reduce it.

Energy resistance isn't skin deep as far as I know.

Hell, otherwise you could burn the "inside" of a fire elemtal (or magma elemental). Which would be silly.

The game doesn't distinguish 'internal' damage as being a thing.

Energy damage is energy damage, and resistance applies to it.
