Trying to figure out if I can take Metamagic or Item Creation Feats as Advancement Feats (1st, 3rd, 5th, etc), but I'm not finding any official ruling.
Can anybody help me out here?

When you gain a feat for reaching an odd character level, you may take any feat for which you qualify. Restrictions on feats generally only apply to bonus feats gained via class abilities.
