New to SF and kind of brainstorming ideas before our game starts.
What caught my eye was the new Mechanic tricks added, the ones that allow you to turn one gadget into another and then the upgraded version that changes weapons into others.
Would the backup generator be a viable upgrade to have inside the android upgrade slot, always having access to power albeit slow. If he loots batteries from baddies, he could probably keep switching them out to have a bag full of them, even if it takes 10 min per charge to recharge?

Yes. The backup generator was the the first armor upgrade my Shirren Soldier bought. He and his teammates were glad to have it when away from civilization.
I take it that the generator only recharges and doesn't hold any charges itself, so if able, I should always hook up a battery to it to store them for a bad moment?

Yes, if you don't have a partially empty battery plugged in it's not doing anything for you.
