Yeah I guess if the dentist gave ME valium that'd make me happy(ier) to! :)

Just depends on who you are on how much you hate/like the dentist I suppose.

My wife, has been to the dentist so much (weak teeth) that she probably knows the procedures as well as they do. :)

My daughter (college age) is so scared of the dentist/ortho, (is SUCH a wuss) that she whines and cries when they aren't even touching her teeth yet. o_O

My son (High School age) doesn't like them, but is NOT scared either. He's in the 'Sigh, Can you please Hurry up and get this done? I have video games to play' category. ;P

All this talk of dentistry caused me just now remember I forgot my cleaning appointment last month. Dang it.

Ugh. Speaking of dentistry, I’m getting my wisdom teeth cut out later this month. Best to have it done while you’re young, I’m told.

I was around 40, I think. I was completely sedated for it. While the dentist was prepping things I became intensely interested in the various tools on the tray next to me. He said to quit looking at them because they might frighten me. I was actually eyeing the various little picks. I wanted to steal them for cleaning small fossils.

Being sedated freaks me out nearly as much as being fully aware. *Sigh*

It has to be done, I guess.

Soon I will fall down on a new mattress...
The platform bed and the mattress for it arrived today.

Sweet dreams!

I don't fear dentistry. I just fear how to pay for it without having to find a way to donate my plasma.

Also while I've yet to visit a dentist, it's more about "who do you trust" and "How much will they charge?" when I'm not able to afford dental insurance.

Mom is holding up a little better. She still hurts...but I think it's passing a little more each day. I think...

Yawn. I dreamed some things, but I don't remember them. I don't think they were sweet.

It's not that my wisdom teeth never came in...

It's that I never had them at all. Ever. Not even little nubs of remnants of teeth.

I am but a step in evolution.

You should try again soon. Many find that a nice warm glass of milk before bed helps.

{angry whispers:} What? What do you mean his dose of milk wasn't delivered? What idiot chose United Pugwampi Service for deliveries?! BOB? What in the Nine Hells, Bob? It doesn't matter if the 'wampis were the lowest bidders for the contract if they don't deliver!!!

I don't care that Michael Gove's delivery was made correctly, Bob. Who the f!ck wants to eat his brain? Well then, you eat it Bob. Probably give you some prion disease.

Thinking I should probably leave the annoyance thread alone for a while before I say something that pisses too many people off. I'm getting the feeling a couple people are taking the latest discussion personally and any further negative talk on the subject could be perceived as pointed at them in particular.

...which, if my suspicion is true, would be completely accurate, admittedly.

I think Bob would be wasting his time entirely if he tried, to be fair.

I think their discussion has cleared up a bit. Fist bumps and "we cool" have been had.

So, just so I have this down correctly in my notes: If I pick up my bass, plug in my distortion pedal, and grab an electric drill during a social gathering, I'm the jerk? I'm personally still a little confused on the whole thing.

;)

My personal opinion basically comes down to "if I didn't pay you to hear your music or personally select your album/video to listen to, I probably don't want to hear it".

I'm the guy who hates concerts because I don't like the crowd's horrible attempts to sing along.

You can blame 30 years of 3-times-a-week church services, each full of a Capella singing, for most of my disdain of non professional music. Inevitably it was always the worst singers who sang the loudest and/or ended up sitting right behind me or next to me in the pews.

I'm one of those people who sings along with concerts, as bad as I am. But apparently once I sang a complete song right at a Rob Halford concert because the guy next to me asked if I was looking for a band. His group had just lost its singer. I politely denied and went right back to "Hellbent for Leather".

I' m taking this moment to think of those who fought and died and those who fought and lived on D-day. I give thanks for them and their sacrifice.

Look all I know is when I hear, "Master of Puppets", "Creeping Death" or "One" I'm singing along dammit.

Even the squally high bits at the end?

If I recall I really did hit those notes. Maybe not as high as Halford but in the same key. It was a sort of Zen moment when everything fell into place at the right time. I've tried since then but nothin'. Just nothin'. Sometimes live performances are done in a lower key because it's better for long tours, so maybe that was it. (I hope I got the terminology right).

Priest played here last Saturday. I had a ticket to go, given to me by a friend, but I wasn't able to attend the show. Last Saturday was a really down day for me because of that. My son got to go and he got me a copy of the set list, though.

Hi, everyone!

Hi, John! How's it going?

Another boring Friday at work. At least, I get to look forward to Game Day, tomorrow.

One of my best friends in college (and my first DM) had to have his wisdom teeth removed twice. TWICE. They actually grew back.

That happened to me, too...

Ugh. You have my utmost sympathy for having to deal with that.

I'm just glad my teeth are probably going to rot... :p

Well at least my gums maybe...I dunno.

I do know I'm glad I go through this Friday. Details to be forthcoming after I hit Sunday because then at least I'll have gotten more sleep.

Oh I do too, in the privacy of my car or home. Not in public.

I'm not allowed to sing so people can hear it, the U.N. specifically forbids it.

"Cruel and Unusual" they called it.

So you and Bender too then, Captain?

Also Orthous, I sing in public too. Mostly if you count the public as dogs that can't run away from me...

Do dragons get "scaleballs"? No, not some kind of draconic STD*, but like cat hairballs except scales?

Would they be magical? Semi-sentient? Ooze-like?

* I would think kobolds, half-dragons, and draconic bloodline-d humanoids would be STD enough.

Edit: Oooo, would dragons get bezoars? What would a dragon with the alchemist parasitic twin or tumor familiar discoveries be like?

I think that draconic bezoars would be composed of teeth, bones, hair, and some other undigested remains of their prey, so they would be closer to owl's pellets than cat's hairballs.

Just needs a little necromancy to animate as a bezoarombie then, or maybe as a death bezoar knight.

I went from not knowing what bezoars are to thinking I 've been suffering from them for years. The dragon kind if you must know.
Damn hypochondria.

So update since it's now...9:23 pm EST and I'm 100% sure other than my dogs, I've gotten through the rough parts of this weekend;

To begin with: I had initially agreed to help dog sit for my neighbor that lives on the street above and across from me while she, her husband and their youngest daughter spent time in Uruguay. (It's a work/family vacation in that he's from there but he's also doing research for his studies/classes that he teaches here at West Virginia University).

THEN two weeks ago, my neighbor two houses up from me was like "Could you take care of our dog while we go on a Five day weekend?" and I was like "Sure!" (I like their dog. Not as much as my other neighbor's dog that reminds me of my first dog Tucker in terms of coloration.)

THEN last week on Wednesday my client (who lives MUCH farther away) asked me to come by their house to check on their dogs TWICE; Once at 10:30 am and the second time 2:30 pm.

So that was my Friday, (with the addition of my usual clients); which also featured my brother's dog Conway who has decided he's the youngest child syndrome while giving poor Rory a kind of "middle child" syndrome too. But fortunately my brother left his conference in DC early and was able to help out so that I wouldn't be doing three dogs here, one dog there and one dog over there.

So that helped. That and two nice bookends of sleeping from 8-ish until 11:30-ish helped too.

Now it's Sunday...and it's time for me to check on my OTHER client that lives...further from me but not as far as my other client that asked me to check on their dogs twice on Friday. Plus it's for their cat. Who I thought liked me/wasn't going to spit at me. But apparently I was wrong. But oh well. So I've done all that, had my two dogs go a little nuts this evening...and finally calm down after I took them out for like the THIRD time in less than 6 hours...

So overall, I'm looking forward to Tuesday evening when my neighbor from two houses up comes back so I can come down from having 4 dogs...but I start back up again with a neighbor that lives up the street from me's Siberian Husky whom they want like LONG walks. (Like more than a half hour...) But fortunately my other neighbor's daughter who apparently works will be taking my first client's dog with her camping. So...there's that.

If it all sounds confusing because I'm not using proper names, I apologize but the fact is I try to be...discreet about what I reveal about my clients to people that 'live' on the internet.

Protecting personal privacy on the internet is important. It's their call to decide what the world knows, not yours, so we can just suffer the potential confusion.

Granted, you could go with Client 1, Client 2, etc. Or just make up names and ignore genders. You could make a whole chart on your wall with pushpins and colored string tying it all together to help you keep it straight when you post here. When the cops show up for some completely unrelated and mundane reason and happen to see that, you can have a nice, interesting conversation with them over some coffee.

Perhaps I need to head to bed now.

These dance shows are gonna be the death of me,...

OR cause me to be the death of somebody,....

;P

Either way,... ;)

Argh, at least I get a little break, before my last dance show of the season. (Actually had a cancellation, VERY unusual.) :P

What up weary-world (internet) travelers? :)

Hm,... Did I read someone say 'bed' above?!? I almost forgot what mine felt like this week,...
-_-

Damn, it’s still got its brain and everything. The argument could be made that the critter is still alive, though the ice damage has to be extensive. Still, who knows what future technology will look like - one day that wolfo could be living happily in a zoo.
