My spiritualist is a librarian that got haunted by a grim reaper-like death spirit and forced into adventuring. The initial build strategy was to make her be a skill monkey while the phantom is a tank/debuffer. However, I've been struggling to think of things for her to do other than heal allies with CLW wands and casting buffs on occasion.
Maybe some suggestions? Her phantom has the fear emotion focus. I considered retraining a couple of feats so she can spend her turns demoralizing enemies.

...why aren't you having your spirit melee? The spirits AC is low, but it should also be a fairly low priority target compared to the other PCs. Even if it is a target, it has the HP to take a few shots before you recall it.
The fear type is especially suited to doing melee damage due to its special abilities. Shaken is a minor effect, but once you hit 7th you can hit something to make it Shakened and then follow up with increase fear to make them frightened. Any spells that induce a fear effect improve one rank which is extremely powerful.
You might want to take a few spells like Chill Touch that will let you share spells with your Phantom for when you are fighting creatures that are immune to your Phantom's slams.
You could also consider learning Dazzling Display so you can intimidate a crowd and then throw improve fear on top of it.

I forgot to mention, the spiritualist just turned level 8 and I'm considering retraining a couple of feats. Here's the build.
The spiritualist is human that just turned level 8
Str 7; Dex 14; Con 12; Int 14; Cha 14; Wis 20
Feats Skill Focus (history), Emotional Conduit, Eldritch Heritage (Harrow), Phantom Fighter, Spirit Symbiosis
phantom (fear focus)
Weapon Finesse, Piranna Strike, Improved Natural Attack (slam)

I get the flavor for the Harrow Bloodline, but if you wanted a little more bonuses and flavor you might want to consider Fey Obedience: Magdh. +4 to all Int-based skills and you still keep the future-seeing vibe.
Do you fight a lot of incorporeals in your campaign? Because Phantom Fighter is kind of situational and could be retrained.
Meirril makes a good point with Dazzling Display. Spell Focus (Necromancy) can up the DC of your fear causing spells.
Geruvurrda's got a point as well for Combat Advice, since you're probably not going to be making many full attacks. Giving others +2 to hit for a move action is nice.
Speaking of actions, if you're not spending many swift actions or giving out morale bonuses you qualify for the Battle Cry feat. Party-wide +1 to hit, +4 saves against fear, and they get a reroll on failed fear saves.

Wow, Fey Obedience: Magdh is crazy powerful. Even with the PFS nerf, it's still as good as three feats. Unfortunately, I don't have that book.
I agree that Phantom Fighter and Eldritch Heritage should be the ones to retrain.
Would Flagbearer be any good? I can spend my 8th level advancement to advance my Charisma to 15 for the prerequisites.

If you don't have a Bard in the party or a divine caster with Bless, then yeah I think Flagbearer is very helpful. If you ever get the cash you can combine that with the Banner of the Ancient Kings for better bonuses.
Also Deific Obedience: Irori is very good as well. +4 to Knowledges so you can be the perfect... librarian. If you take the Additional Traits feat you can pick up the Wisdom in the Flesh trait (it's in that link) and you can substitute your nice Wisdom mod for one Strength/Dexterity skill.
