Hello! I'm very excited about the new classes for Starfinder, as well as the opportunity to actually take part in a playtest for once and provide some feedback (my home group just recently started our homebrew game that I GM for).
I've only just begun to work my way through the classes now, but while I skimmed through I noticed that there are rules for applying archetypes, but nothing similar to the class grafts from Alien Archive's NPC creation rules. I'm curious if there are any official guidlines Paizo might currently have in mind for class grafts, or if that was outside the scope of the playtest.
While I'm certain that with some time I could come up with some grafts to use in my home game, I figured it might be useful to either:
- Find out what Paizo would like us to test with. Or...
- Possibly crowdsource some solutions here for GMs to use in their games!
Has anyone already been toying with ideas yet? If so, I'd love to hear them! I plan on working my way through the rest of the classes today, and I'll gladly share whatever ideas I come up with as well.
Looking forward to hear what you folks think!

Sadly, class grafts are outside the scope of this playtest.
Honestly we need to get the classes tuned for their main function, use as PCs, before we can do a good job determining how they should work as class grafts.
If you want to test some of the class features by making your own grafts that's great, but we aren't planning to make "official" grafts for the playtest.

Thanks for the follow-up, Owen. That makes perfect sense to me - hard to balance the classes as NPCs if you're unsure of how well they work in their primary use.
I definitely want to experiment still, as it's already given me some interesting ideas for NPCs in my game, and I'd love to test these classes out in some way despite being in the GM role. I do still plan on offering the chance for my players to do a rebuild if they so desire, as we're only a couple of sessions into our game. I think vanguard will be particularly appealing to one player.
If I feel ambitious, and if anyone has interest, I'd be happy to share what I come up with for NPC implementation as well!
