Weapon combos

Advice

Just wondering what are peoples favourite weapon combinations for warriors and why ?
One of mine was a fighter who used spear and shield as main with short sword and war hammer as backups that way I had reach and could set for charge or drop the spear and go for close quaters either bladed or blunt worked well
This was in 2ed so sorry no feats

I want to kill things close: greatsword
I want to kill things afar: comp. longbow
I want to kill things but want to spend a truckload of feats to do it right: a pair of kukris

When I'm not tailoring a melee combatant's build to a specific type of weapon (Archer, reach-weapon specialist, etc.), particularly for Paladins, I'll go armed to the teeth with a weapon for every occasion, i.e. a Longbow, a Greatsword/Falchion/Curveblade and a reach weapon of some sort - especially if I can shoehorn Combat reflexes into the build.

Yes, every martial pc should have at least 1 backupweapon.
And that should be of another type (p, s, b)

Nets are freaking awesome.

A bow and many different types of arrows, including: normal (cold iron), silver, blunt, adamantine, ghost salt, blunted, etc.

Backup weapon: another bow

Back up, back up weapon: greatsword

back up, back up, back up weapon: dagger
