Multiple Attack Penalty. The - 5 - 10 you take on second and third attacks in a round.

As above. Apparently it stemmed from the D game's 2E Fighters getting 2.5 weapon attacks per turn, translated to iterative attacks of 3E whose relative accuracy went by 100%, 75%, 50%, and 25%, adding up to 250%. Which was a total disaster for martial characters, a total shame.
