Are Constructs Magic Items?

Rules Questions

Can abilities or effects that affect Magic Items be applied to Constructs, or does Constructs' status as Creatures render such effects inapplicable to them?

The ability that brought this into question is the Salvage feature of the Artificer class by Adamant Entertainment, but the question is also applicable for purposes such as the Disable Dweomer feat from the Advanced Class Guide and the Sabotage Magic Item feat from Ultimate Intrigue.

Constructs function in antimagic fields. Magic items do not. Constructs are not effected by dispel magic, items can be supressed.

Based on these 2 examples from clear rules, I would say constructs are not items in other cases.

Constructs are creatures created with magic. They are not items.

Effects that target items do not affect constructs unless they specify that they do so, such as Make Whole or Greater Make Whole.
