Fillable and automatic character sheets that work on Macs?

General Discussion

Hello,

I've found a number of fillable character sheets in these forums and elsewhere, but none of them work on Macs (using preview or acrobat reader).

Is there anyone that have made some that are compatible?

Thanks.

I'd very much appreciate if you can give this fillable HTML character sheet a test on Safari and let me know if it works.

Ok. The basic editing and saving/importing works, but all the "calculate and populate" buttons don't work.

Both on Safari and Chrome.

Don't know if you have tried mine or not so I will link the character sheet here. I know it works on IPADs but I think that is not the Mac OS.

If it does work there are additional sheets linked in my proifile (just click my blue name) for starships as well as a sheet that is fillable but does no calculations if that is your thing.

Let me know if they work?

That looks like it works at least on my mac. I don't have all my character stuff to plug in all the numbers to test but just doing some stuff off the top of my head seemed to be calculating correctly.

Kaid: when you say that the file Gilfalas linked works on your mac, are you talking about the modifiers automatically updating?

When I tried it, both on Preview and on Acrobat Reader, it doesn't. I enter 18 for strength and the malus remains at -5...

I'll take a look at the other files later today.

Yes when I change the str number the modifiers update as expected on my mac.

Make sure you download a copy of the file first before trying to edit it. That is one mistake that I see some making they try to just manipulate the one on the link directly for most of these you need to download a copy locally so you can modify it and have the calculations kick in.

Well, I downloaded the file, opened it from the downloads folder using Preview (then Acrobat reader when Preview didn't work), and changing the strength did nothing to the modifier.

Am I doing something wrong?

What specific Mac OS are you using and what specific Acrobat product and version number? Maybe the combination of the two causes issues? Unfortunately I have 0 way to test on Mac's and 0 knowledge or access to Mac software.

I'm using Mac OS 10.13.5 and Acrobat Reader DC 18.011.20058.

It's as if my PDF apps had the "calculate" option turned off. But I can't find such an option...
