Intimidating Strike + Shatter Defenses doesn't work?

Classes

I'm not sure if it's a typo or I'm reading it wrong, but Intimidating Strike makes the enemy flat-footed while also frightening them until the end of the fighters turn and Shatter Defenses, since the enemy is flat-footed, makes them sluggish1 until the flat-footed condition ends (but it doesn't give the flat-footed condition). Now it's the end of the Fighters turn and the flat-footed condition ends as well as the sluggish condition so there is no profit.

I'd like some clarification on that. Am I misinterpreting the "Instead" in the Shatter Defenses entry? And I am sorry but I'm not sure how to quote something on a forum. Hopefully you bare with me.

You are correct. Shatter Defenses' "instead" clause does not correctly handle the case where the foe is flat-footed already but for a shorter duration than Shatter Defenses would normally inflict.

FWIW, I have reported the issue in an errata thread the devs are known to read.

Thanks for bringing this to a broader attention.
Hopefully they'll tackle this issue.

The only real problem here is that they did the order of operations for Shattered Defense backwards. It should check to see if the creature is flatfooted first, if so then remove that instance of flatfooted for sluggish 1, then apply flatfooted until end of the warrior's next turn.
