Torture with nanites

What happens if I tie someone to a chair and detonate a canister of nanites (per the nanite thrower) in their mouth? Can they not make Reflex saves to save themselves from being deconstructed? Are they simply going to dissolve until I can relieve their suffering with my stun gun?

Its up to the GM. I'd say, either they can make the save anyway, or they are helpless and unimportant enough that you can basically do whatever you want.

I think once you’re restrained you automatically get the helpless condition and don’t get reflex saves

What if I'm a GM, and the person in the chair is a player's character? Does that change anything? Should it?
