Vampires and Destruction Spell

Rules Questions

My table is currently playing the old Expedition to Castle Ravenloft 3.5 campaign using Pathfinder pcs and rules. The party has come across a scroll of Destruction and are considering using it on Count Strahd or one of his vampire cohorts. Does Destruction work against vampires? I am leaning towards it does as I have seen nothing that says it doesn't. Thought I would get some ideas from other game masters. Thanks!

I don't think it would work. The spell is a necromancy [death] spell that requires a fort save. Undead are immune to death effects and effects that require fort saves.

Just found those tidbits myself. I texted the group and they are bummed out as they have dealt with Strahd and his cohorts for longer than they care to... Guess they will have to take out the Dayheart after all. Thanks!
