Contingency says you can place another spell upon your person so that it comes into effect under some condition you dictate when casting contingency.
Contingent Action says this spell counts as a contingency spell for the purpose of having multiple contingent effects on a creature at the same time.
It seems like to me that due to the use of the word “effect” in both spells, that you could cast Contingency+Contingent Action, to basically have a 1 day/level version of Contingent Action at the cost of two spells, one of which is a 6th level spell.
But is this right?

This works. Until contingency's trigger occurs, contingent action is not in effect, so there's nothing to conflict with contingency. I assume that the idea here is to choose "right now" or some other auto-true condition as the trigger for contingent action.
Seems expensive, though, given that the action can't involve casting a spell or activating a supernatural ability.
