I have a monster with "energy damage of your choice" -- so, what can I choose?

Rules Questions

The monster in question is a fleshdreg with the "wrath" variation.

So here's my question: what is officially an "energy" type? Can I have the fleshdreg deal positive energy damage? Negative energy? Sonic? Force?

Are there other energy types that are rare/unique? For example, is there a "wind" energy type? An eldritch energy? A psionic energy?

I don't think that it is clearly defined anywhere, but most people accept only those listed in the description of Resit Energy spell:

Quote:
This abjuration grants a creature limited protection from damage of whichever one of five energy types you select: acid, cold, electricity, fire, or sonic.

Shadow Lodge

Yeah, those are the main ones - and even sonic is pushing it a bit since it's an unusual damage type that doesn't get resisted often.

In this case, as a player, I wouldn't bat an eye if the GM had it do positive and negative energy.

As a GM I would probably restrict a player to fire, cold, acid, or electricity, unless there was a good reason otherwise.

A vicious weapon appears to do untyped energy damage. It isn't clear that's the intend, though.
