So I've come into an issue with the ex-archetypes, particularly the Vindictive Bastard. The archetype is obviously an ex-paladin archetype. And ex-paladins obviously lose spellcasting and auras. And yet the ex-archetypes say that you get to keep archetypes that don't replace what the ex-archetype replaces. For example, a Tempered Champion replaces spellcasting, and VB has no such text. So you'd be able to keep TC, even though you can't have Spellcasting? And are we positive that you lose everything and then gain what the archetype says? If so, that makes the Sin Monk not very Monklike with its abilities, losing even Flurry of Blows, which even a Martial Artist monk gets to keep.
There's an ex-class entry in classes you can get kicked out of. Ex-Monk loses nothing other than the ability to progress as a monk. Paladin on the other hand loses all spells and class features.
Both Vindictive Bastard and Tempered Champion replace Divine Bond, so they aren't compatible and you'd lose the Tempered Champion template. But you would keep the archetype if it was compatible with Vindictive Bastard even though you no longer have the ability you've traded out. It seems weird, but that appears to be how it's written.
