Party is L7.
We have a shifter, a witch, a divine (lost 1 lvl of cleric) that functions as a flag bearer bard, one other melee (forget the class atm) and myself.

What we have:
flight: witch only
spider climb: (me)
tanglefoot bags: me and maybe one other.
ranged DPR: me only.

Since I am physical blast only...my best to hit (before bardy buffs) is: +13
+1 Point blank
+5 20 dex
+5 bab
+2 elemental overflow.

There are no magic items available or anywhere we can stock up on say potions of fly.

We already know the dragon has some magic abilities...so I figure he's gonna mage armor/shield and mirror image or so forth.
We do not have dispel magic.
He may have support (flying clerics with deeper darkness) plus other unknowns (mini-bosses?)
We do not have daylight.

I am a bit worried. With buffs a dragon could have AC's in the 30's. And if he just plays smart and strafes with his breath weapon, the majority of the party has limited or no range abilities. The witch fires a bow if hexes are not up.

We do not know the dragon type we are fighting. Though a reluctant minion' tested' us with entangle so assuming that is one of its SLA's. And no freedom of movement either.

One resist energy potion and one resist energy spell.

Suggestions? Meta-gaming wise we are an oversized party of L7 on an elite buy so we could be talking a CR10 before adding minions, environment, etc.

Ill save my preferred dragon fighting strategy for the end of this post. First I have a few more specific questions about the situation that may spark some better ideas than the one Im going to write about.

Is it just magic items you don't have access to or is this a "middle of the crawl no ability to stock up at all" kinda situation?
What talents do you have? What does the shifter do (Im largely unfamiliar with the class)? Are the witch and cleric debuff focused at all? While you may not know what kind of dragon youre fighting do you know where youre fighting it (that can give hints as to what it is and how it may fight)?

So... this is gonna sound dumb but please keep in mind that the last time I fought a dragon I was an inquisitor of Cayden Cailean with a 1 lvl dip into swashbuckler so dumb things were my bread and butter (I also have a dm who is a very good sport about my shenanigans). Get a net, or a rope with a grappling hook, or a lasso or something, use them to snare the dragon, then have the shifter and other melee guy climb those ropes and ride the dragon. Give the the riders the tanglefoot bags to try to slow down the dragon and keep it distracted while you and the spell casters deal with minions or attack the dragon from range.
