There's a significant dungeon crawl in each volume, but also significant opportunities for roleplaying in each volume. The latter are perhaps more easily minimized in this adventure path than average, but the nature of the connective tissue between chapters means that it's also fairly easy for a GM to add a bunch of roleplaying hooks.

I think that's good info. I'm looking to run either this or Rise of the Runelords before Return comes out for some extra history or consistency.
I know most would choose Rise but my group has played 2 parts of that before. I'd heard of the dungeons in this AP but wanted to make sure there was a better mix than just kicking in doors.

I'll say, I've been working on a few ways to add more to Shattered Star, and one thing I've seen/considered is adding elements from PFS Season 4: Year of the Risen Rune in order to add more chances for RP, as well as add a concurrent enemy for the players to face throughout the whole story.
And hey, it will also add more to chances to foreshadow the final boss too.
