Axe Musket Full Attack

Now I know the axe musket gets no love, but I love my characters with flavor and flaws. With that out of the way, my question:

When using the full attack action with the aforementioned weapon, can you switch between shooting and slashing, or do you need to choose one? I feel this may have been answered implicitly in posts about how it's not a true double weapon, but I am still confused on the matter.

You can freely choose between them. The weapon says it can be used as either a musket or a battleaxe, and does not specify any other restrictions. There is no requirement for you to make the same decision for each subsequent attack of a full attack.

Hmm, as far as I can see, the Musket Axe isn't a double weapon, it's treated as a double weapon only for crafting magic items. I'm torn on how to treat it for switching between the two. I don't think you could switch between the two, otherwise it'd be a true double weapon. Even a quarterstaff gets penalised as a light and one handed weapon for TWF

The fact that it's not a true double weapon just means you can't dual-wield it with your main-hand and off-hand. If you're just using iterative attacks, there is no need to even have the double weapon property. You're just making two separate attacks with the same weapon, and making different decisions about how you're using it.

The answer to this question really is that simple. The axe musket can be used either as an axe or a musket. Period. There are no additional restrictions.

True, if you have iterative attacks, you should be able to swap between them no problem. I think you could use TWF with it as two regular weapons, at -6/-10 or -4/-4 with TWF feat.
