There's lots of threads on the Read Magic cantrip and how it's rarely used at mid-to-high levels for deciphering magical inscriptions due to Spellcraft optimization.
But I'm curious if any of you have found the Read Magic cantrip to be useful at mid-to-high levels specifically for its Symbol & Glyph indentification benefits
I'm asking because my prior DM rarely has ever used Symbol & Glyph spells. Yet my new DM *will* be using them a lot in our current campaign.
A wizard has limited cantrip slots per day. And Read Magic is low on that cantrip priority ladder for a 10th level wiz.
So yeah, I'm kinda looking for testimonials from players who've found Read Magic to be worth its salt ... in certain symbol/glyph-heavy campaigns ... and worthy of its 0th level preparation slot.
Thanks!

I will say that I once had my high level diviner prep read magic because I knew we'd be facing symbol traps in the upcoming adventuring days (it was based on info I received from a successful contact other planes spell). It was useful in that regard because of the sheer amount of symbols we ran into through that adventure. Was it worth it for that set of niche circumstances? Hell yeah. But the key word I'm using here is NICHE. My diviner would never ever use read magic again after that. Still, he liked knowing that the spell sat ready to be used in his spellbook in the event such a circumstance ever arose again.
