Animal Trick rules citations needed for Herolab

Rules Questions

Hey all.

I use Herolab for my characters. I'm making a hunter with an animal companion. I was messing around to see what a high level build would look like, when I discovered that HeroLab doesn't let me take an additional 3 tricks for hitting 4 Int. I submitted it as a bug, because I read here and here that I should be flat-out getting 3 tricks per point of Int.

HeroLab guys get back to me, thank me for my citations, but say my sources are aimed at Pathfinder Society. They have that rule implemented for if you use the "this is a PFS character" option for your character sheet, but it's not considered a standard rule. I don't know what else that might effect, so I don't want to mark it as PFS just in case. Worst case scenario I'll just have to make sure I'm exactly 3 overspent on tricks when I hit Int 4.

So they asked me to find them some non-PFS-focused source for the rule that says you get 3 tricks per point of Int on an animal/ animal companion, and if it's legit they'll make the adjustment. I'm having a hell of a time finding it. Can you guys help?

AFAIK, there is no such flat-out stated rule. I pored over the old "Monkey See, Monkey Do?" blog post to see if it resolved the issue; to the contrary, judging by the comments, the blog post appears to have only increase posters' frustration regarding tricks.
