Can we please get the playtest (or harrow) medium released?!?

I have seen posts that at least one Paizo employee played it, and have heard that it is complete, but is just sitting in a filing cabinet some where.

I know the problem is that they don't have a good medium (heh) to release it, so here are some suggestions

  • Humble Bundle, as a bonus for a certain donation
  • Standalone PDF, which I will gladly pay $20 for
  • Put it in the last hardcover, even if its not thematically appropriate
  • PM me and I will fly out to your offices and we can make a trade for any goods and/or services I have

I would just hate for all the work that went into one of the most interesting class concepts to not make it out into the public.

The last update on the matter.

It's not 100% done, unfortunately.

What if.. The Harrow Medium finds its true home in P2E. I mean I feel like the medium will be awhiles away, but i feel like a modular system where every class has "class feats," the large amount of options granted by the harrow medium might fit better in P2E than the original. Of course this won't fix the issue of it not being in P1E

The fact that the powers are done is more than enough for me. I am actually playing a harrow medium in my curse of the crimson throne game right now, the GM and I spent about a year filling in ~10 spirits, so I had enough to play with for the AP.

The thing I learned is that spells are "easy", but powers are the difficult part. So if I just had those, I could be so happy.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Chiming in as another voice that is interested in seeing this product come to light in some way or another one day. Seeing it in a humble bundle would be great, although I do understand the work that goes into the pdf formatting/layout.

I always liked the way the MANY different spirit choices (rather than the six you get in the final version) gave you more customization, both for build and story reasons. Picking your spirits based on NPCs or villains who died over the course of the campaign, literally drawing on your whole history over the game as you progressed, was always so cool to me.

While I would be very sad to never see the Harrowed Medium ever, if it does eventually turn up in 2E (as pixierose described above), that would make me super happy. Although seeing it in 1E would be the absolute best case scenario. :)

It’s a pretty complicated class, so it seems more PF1 than PF2, yeah.

Yeh, while it would be nice to have it either way, it would probably be best as a PF1 class just because of its complexity and because it's already built for PF1
