Venom Spur as a swift action

Rules Questions

Hi, had a bit of a discussion on this in our last session but couldnt come to an agreement so would be interested in how you are interpreting this. Venom spur descriptions says this: "You implant a retractable stinger and venom sac into your hand. *You can extend this stinger as a swift action* but only while you aren’t holding anything in that hand. Attacks with your stinger deal 1d6 piercing damage and automatically inject venom into the target.

So is the extension as a swift action an attack, leaving you with a standard action remaining OR is extending it and attacking with it 2 separate actions requiring the swift action and the standard action to attack with it?

Swift and Standard - there is nothing in the text that says "attacking with the spur is Swift". Same as drawing/unsheathing a weapon is different from attacking with it. Your Advantage is that you use only a Swift instead of a move for making your weapon ready.

Extending is swift. ando nly counts as taking it out.

its effectively a "draw weapon" action just for this specific item and only quickly
