Telekinetic Sphere question?

Rules question:

I am standing in front of an immovable rod that is suspended in the air. I cast Telekinetic Sphere on it. And it makes its reflex save to avoid being trapped inside. What happens to the rod? What happens to the sphere?

After you answer that question here comes the fun: there are two rods next to each other suspended in the air. One makes its save, the other doesn’t. They are 5’ apart and the sphere is being cast by a 20th level wizard (20’ diameter). What happens to the rod that failed the save, the rod that made it, and what happened to the sphere?

I am looking for advice here. I really don’t know how to rule either situation.

haha exactly my thoughts. Something a tad different actually happened, but very similar. I am using this extreme case to really draw out ideas on what to do.

My ruling was pick something else to do because I have no idea how to handle that, and everyone at the table was stumped.

Personally, I'd say the effects of the Immovable Rod override the powers of Telekinetic Sphere. ...This mostly comes from the numbers involved. XD The Immovable Rod can withstand about 8000 pounds of force before moving, while the Telekinetic Sphere can only move about 5000.

I am not even interested in moving the rods. I am more interested in what happens if one makes it save and the other does not? If this was a creature that made its save and the rod failed, it would still be in the sphere and the sphere could move just to the point where the rod was at the edge, but the creature would have to move out of the area of effect.
