This is a cool spell for the DM to use on an NPC spellcaster to make a more challenging and interesting dungeon crawl in his inner sanctum. But many questions come to mind:

1) The 200 sq ft per level limitation does not say that it has to be contiguous. I hope I'm not abusing the spell by using those square feet to cover the zones of fog and webs and so on here and there, leaving some rooms and corridors uncovered.

2) It's an abjuration spell, so even though some of the effects are illusion-based, a spellcaster who was prohibited from using illusion or enchantment spells (like a thassilonian specialist) would still get those effects, right?

3) Since it's a 6th-level spell, all the effects will have a save DC based on that level, not the level of the individual spell (like web and stinking cloud), right?

Thanks for your help!

1) From the spell- "warded area can be as much as 20 feet high, and shaped as you desire. You can ward several stories of a stronghold by dividing the area among them"

Since you are the DM, then yes, you can use the spell in that way. Just be consistent. If you use this spell that way, then a PC should be able to as well.

If this was PFS though, expect table variation.

2) yes

3) yes, its a 6th level spell, so saves for all effects are based off 6th level spell.
