I apologize if this has been stated elsewhere, but at some point are they going to allow us to play the legacy races? For whatever reason most of the core races just don't interest me that much. I have a friend who loves playing halflings and my go to race has always been dwarves. Any chance of this happening with the new season? Thanks!

This is happening now. GMing at a con or at a store that has a Region Support Program in place.
Sorry I wasn't clear. I meant like when PFS opened up different races for people to play when a new season started. I'm already running a home game of Dead Suns so I don't have the ability to GM. Besides I've been doing that since the early days of Living Greyhawk so I think I'm due for some downtime. :-)

At some point? Probably. But not for some time.
We’re only halfway through the first season right now! And as Gary has said those are chronicle rewards right now. Suddenly opening them up would completely remove the legacy races as a GM reward/incentive.
(For reference I think PFS didn’t open up any non-Core races for general use until Season 4.)
One thing you can try to do is get really friendly with your most active local GM. One of the rewards they can get is the ability to give one legacy race boon to a player of their choosing.

Thanks Kevin! To be clear I was not asking for this to be opened up right now. Just some info as to if that might happen in the future. I can only speak for myself but I'm just not into the races currently offered. They are all cool in their own way, it's just that we had a lot of fun playing the sci fi versions of these in the 3.0 Dragonstar game from FFG that I was looking forward to doing that again.
Hmm if I have to wait four years to play a dwarf....not good. Guess I'm stuck playing humans. :-(

Legacy Races are something we certainly want to eventually open up for broader play. We've made some headway on opening these up through via the RSP boon and other (spoiler-filled) avenues. If you've been keeping up with Starfinder Society offerings, you'll understand what I mean. That being said, I assure you, you won't have to wait long for dwarves and your friend certainly won't have to wait too long for halflings!
All things (and more) to those who wait... :)

Thanks Thurston, that's what I wanted to hear. Got no problem waiting I'm having fun with my human mechanic at the moment. Been playing one version or another of this game since 1977, waiting is something I've gotten used to. :-) Take care.

The GM regional support boon has done wonders to get more people interested in GM'ing Starfinder. Before we had access to it, I was the only local SFS GM for 3 months straight. This month, I'm GMing less than half the local Starfinder sessions.
