The general consensus I've gotten is that you can't apply metamagic to spell-like abilities because spell-like abilities don't have spell slots. I want to know if I can use the Eclipse Metamagic feat on a SLA since it doesn't change the slots at all and therefore should be applicable to a SLA.
Thanks!

As a spellcaster's knowledge of magic grows, he can learn to cast spells in ways slightly different from the norm. Preparing and casting a spell in such a way is harder than normal but, thanks to metamagic feats, is at least possible. Spells modified by a metamagic feat use a spell slot higher than normal. This does not change the level of the spell, so the DC for saving throws against it does not go up. [/b]Metamagic feats do not affect spell-like abilities.[/b] {. . .}

Metamagic Rod: Can I use one of these items to alter a spell-like ability?
No. Metamagic rods allow you to apply a metamagic feat to a spell, and metamagic feats do not work on spell-like abilities.
So no, Metamagic Feats don't work for this. You need to find quasi-Metamagic feats specifically for spell-like abilities, such as Empower Spell-Like Ability or Quicken Spell-Like Ability. Unfortunately, on the Paizo PRD, these things are rather scattered about, so I went to the www.d20pfsrd.com Feats page to look for more, and I see a bunch of different ones, but not Eclipse Spell-Like Ability.
