Shark damage bonus

Rules Questions

A shark's bite deals 1d8+4 points of damage (http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/bestiary/shark.html#shark) - since its strength bonus is only +3, where does the extra point come from?

Hm, lone, primary natural attack. So one and a half damage bonus from strength.

Since it is rounded down 3 strength bonus = 4 damage bonus.

Now for the real question: If I'm playing a ranger with 16 Strength, and throw my shark companion at a Favored Enemy at 5th level, what is my shark's damage bonus?
