Your experience with non-standard dragons?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Although Paizo has consistently published 5 dragons of a new type with each bestiary, it doesn't seem like people are using them with anything other than the odd rift dragon BBEG or something. So, what do you guys think on things like a half- lunar dragon template or a sorcerer with the sovereign dragon bloodline?

PD

They do need to catch up on dragon templates and dragon shapes.

Hmm now I did updated my personal campaign world's gold dragon ruler to a sovereign dragon.

Primal Dragons make for good additions to random encounter tables

Asian Dragons are tricky because not every campaign uses Asian folklore. If you really want to use them, they kinda need to be in place of standard chromatic and metallic dragons.

Space Dragons kinda just go wherever and whenever you want, though I do wish they were more alien in appearance.

Occult and Planar Dragons seem like they should be really rare creatures, maybe to the point of being Unique.

Legacy of Dragons has expanded sorc bloodlines. As for halfdragons, all you really need to do is just use the breath weapon table and just adapt it for new dragons, just replace energy immunity for DR vs the type of damage the breath weapon does.
