Forgotten Gods

What happens to forgotten gods in pathfinder & how are they resurrected? Is it dependant on followers?

My understanding is that, in Pathfinder, deities are not dependent on mortal worship - though I suppose they might lose their divine realm if nobody new goes there for a long time, given the way the Maelstrom eats the other planes. They probably just go start a church somewhere else.

(This is mostly an issue for local deities, methinks. Those active on and worshipped all over the Material plane - like Pharasma - probably can't be forgotten. XD Golarion is one world in a very vast area, after all.)

Forgotten gods aren't dead, they're just really, really busy elsewhere.

Ergo, it only takes one person to spread the faith.

If they aren't dead, bring them back I say.

It would be especially cool if it happened during the course of the campaign.
