Do Samurai levels stack with Brawler levels to qualify for weapon specialization?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

I have one level of Brawler and 3 levels of samurai and I want to take weapon specialization. Relevant text from Brawler entry: At 1st level, a brawler counts her total brawler levels as both fighter levels and monk levels for the purpose of qualifying for feats. Relevant text from the Samurai entry (I believe the text on d20pfsrd differs slightly and I'm not sure if there was some official errata that changed the rules): Finally, his samurai levels stack with any fighter levels he possesses for the purposes of meeting the prerequisites for feats that specifically select his chosen weapon, such as Weapon Specialization. I also have other character levels, so I would be tryouts by to take weapon specialization at 7th level. Do I qualify?

Brawler levels always count as fighter levels for feats; Samurai levels do so for their chosen weapon as of 3rd level, when you get the Weapon Expertise class feature.

These levels stack with each other and any other sources of fighter levels (like being an actual fighter). If that gets you up to 4, you qualify for Weapon Specialization in your chosen samurai weapon.

No, class abilities need to say they stack for them to stack.

Hey Mark, How does having 2 sources of the same class work?

Like a fighter 3 brawler 1, does he count as fighter 4 for things like weapon specialization or is he a fighter 3 and fighter 1?

A monk 7 and it's IUS combined with Brawler or Iorian Paladin or Order of the Hammer Cavalier that count as Monk for IUS progression, would it have a 1d8 punch and a 1d6 punch or would they combine to reach the 1d10 punch?

I think technically it only stacks if it says it does, but I usually let it stack anyway in home games. Can't count the same class level twice though, of course (like with attempts to use those animal companion feats in combination with gaining an animal companion to double count levels of the companion class).
