In our home game we have a player that wanted a Dexterity based Cleric Monk taking advantage of Crusader's Flurry. She could either be a lawful worshiper of Sarenrae using a Scimitar and Dervish Dance to add Dexterity to damage, or a chaotic worshiper of Besmara using a Rapier and Fencing Grace to add Dexterity to damage. To fit better with the group she chose the Rapier. Several sessions in we discover that Fencing Grace specifically says that it doesn't work while using Flurry of Blows, while Dervish Dance does work with Flurry of Blows. At this point it did not make sense to radically change the character to fix the error, and since it was a home game, our GM just ruled that Fencing Grace would work with Flurry Blows.
I started to wonder though, how would you approach this in Society? Is the player allowed any free retraining since the build does not work the way they thought it did? or are you just stuck until you amass enough prestige to retrain all their class features/feats/skills.

That being said, if it was a new player and the error was caught fairly early, it's not unheard of for a Venture Captain to oversee a "PFS legal" rebuild, sign off on the newest Chronicle, and continue playing the character.
People make mistakes, and there's no benefit to being militaristic about a game.
