I wouldnt think so, the Gap is more a narrative device to explain the many possible timelines between Pathfinder and Starfinder but there are enough records and evidence, its basically a given really, that its one continuous universe. Groetus probably still has several billion years to wait before he helps out with the reset.

It does remind me though of the... i think it was a 3.5 epic bestiary? There was a race of super elves that could manifest energy swords at will and they were supposed to be the pinnacle of their species at the end of the last multiverse who were able to survive into the current one through some ark or something.

I suspect that Groetus isn't all-or-nothing. He probably "comes", in at least a lesser sense, whenever doomsday arrives. And while the world continues onward, there probably were some pretty impressive doomsdays right before the Gap.
