samsaran shaman / arcanist / mystic theurge

need some advice, I have a boon for a samsaran and I have decided to make a mystic theurge with it.

should i go arcanist or wizard? is that one level earlier spellcasting
higher spells really worth it?

and what spells should I pull for mystic past life? I was thinking of pulling from the paladin list but not certain, what spells are on spell lists that shaman and arcanists/wizards don't get?

The earlier spell casting level is definitely worth it as it will let you enter MT sooner. You could take the Exploiter Wizard Archtype if some of the arcanist abilities appeal.

If your going to take a level delay on your arcane spells then it is hard to beat Empyreal Sorcerer to get Wisdom based arcane spells.

If Faith Magic is allowed in PFS, I'd second the Exploiter wizard. Using it, you can enter Mystic Theurge at level 7 with Wizard 5/Shaman 1

I'd think it would be at level 9 (Wizard 7 -so you get 4th level spells) as Arcane Faith states, "...spell must be at least 2 levels lower than the highest-level wizard spell you can cast."

No, the spell you select must be 2 levels lower (i.e., 1st level) but you prepare and cast it as 1 level higher (i.e., 2nd level) as a divine spell.
