What spells would you pick with Halcyon Druid's Natural Arcana and Samsarans Mystic Past Life?

So 9 spells from the wizard sorcerer.

And let's say 6 from Mystic Past Life. That can be from another divine spell list.

So 15 spells in total which would you pick?


Antilife shell is a really good one that druids get.


it's spells from wizard sorcerer and one other I'm looking to add to the druid one. So I'm not looking for druid spells.

Fireball and magic missle are always good. Charm monster and dominate person can be useful too. It is hard to go wrong with Dimension door and teleport. There may be others, but those are the ones that come to mind immediately.


You really need to expand on what sort of role your Druid character will be fulfilling. Do they want to wade into melee? What about their spellcasting capabilities, will they specialize in buffs, crowd control, blasting?

Otherwise, we may give you red herring suggestions, which gets everybody nowhere.


I just would like to know interesting spells. I have not decided on anything for the character more than class and race.

Not everyone thinks that way - nor should they.

@Zautos': Admittedly, the Sorcerer/Wizard repertoire is vast, so it wouldn't hurt if you could give us guidelines of SOME sort.

A few fun spells off the top of my head:

black tentacles
phantasmal killer
meteor swarm
fly
major image (they REALLY won't expect this from a Druid)


Well, let's start with the basics then.

Your Mystic Past Life spells must exist in Divine form (as you're a Divine spellcaster first and foremost), and your Halcyon spells must be from the sorcerer/wizard list. Let's start with the latter first.

You can take Summon Monster spells instead of Summon Nature's Ally, which gives you a better creature list to draw from. This can be done with any version of the spell (Arcane or Divine), and if you said you get 15 total, you can get all versions of Summon Monster with 6 to spare.

Invisibility and its Greater counterpart can be crazily powerful with a melee-focused Druid, and have solid utility for a caster druid remaining undetected or killable. Same goes for spells like See Invisibility, which are great counters to these spells (which you can expect).

Mirror Images gives you some solid defensive capability versus melee.

Other solid buff spells include Haste, Heroism, Reduce/Enlarge Person, and Fly. Sure, you fly with certain Wildshape options, but nothing strikes fear into enemies more than a giant flying kitty cat who gets six attacks at added bonuses.

For your Samsaran spells, consider some of the special utility spells that Clerics get that Druids don't. For melee, spells like Divine Favor/Power and Wrath are useful to have, and for spellcasting/utility, Restoration, Mass Heal, and even Protection from X is amazing.
