It shall not happen, alas. John Compton noted in an interview with Know Direction how Dreng eventually perishes (worth listening to the entire interview for that) and has repeatedly stated that Dreng will not make an appearance in Starfinder.
He has hinted that the only way to make an appearance as an NPC in both campaigns is to be undead, and that there will be someone -- not Dreng -- who may show up that way.
Hmm

Let me try my hand at a Culture check to recall knowledge about other icons of my profession (Drendel Dreng). I wouldn't want to take a penalty for following a failed Diplomacy check...
If Aspus agents can suck Aram Zey's soul into a lantern, then I propose that the Pathfinder Society suck Drendel Dreng's soul into a wine-soaked wayfinder, where it is handed down from generation to generation until the Pathfinder Society eventually branches into space. At this point, his soul could be transferred to an android, becoming the first android to become more than a robot, but actually having a soul, where continues to live out a long a fruitful android life, filled with cabbage-smelling space wine adventures. Nearing the end of his second life, realizing his importance to the society, his consciousness is transferred to a computer, the first in a long line of succession to do so. Given the tremendous amount of help this machine of many consciousnesses provides over the years, it is eventually and appropriately named Guidance.
19 on the die (legitimately rolled that after burning a GM nova re-roll on a 6)
+6 skill expertise Culture (Envoy) (Cautious Expertise used to re-roll this from a 2 to a 6)
+4 for 18 Int
+4 (1 rank per level)
+3 class skill
+2 Racial bonus (Kasatha)
+1 for Icon theme (Profession (Conspiracy Theorist/Historian))
for a 39 Culture check against a DC-5 for this particular check as an Icon.
Given that Drendel Dreng is rare and probably CR 20. 15 + (1.5 * 20) = DC 45.
I have me at a 39 vs DC 40. It's too bad you can't Aid Another on a Recall Knowledge. Can I get a GM point for creativity?
