Item suggestions for an impostor necromancer?

I have an illusionist sorcerer character who pretends to be a necromancer (they "summon" ghosts and skeletons and such via illusion magic).

I am looking for creepy/spooky items to flush out the character. Things with a horror/necromancy look/feel to them, but that would not be total wastes of gold for a sorcerer who doesn't actually use much necromancy magic.

Things like Grim Lantern fit the bill.

Share some of your favorite creepy magic items with me, so I can make my character as creepy as possible. :)

Iron Collar of the Unbound Coven would be great if you are going to join a Coven, and is still useful even if you aren't in one. You still need the Coven Hex or the equivalent Accursed Bloodline Arcana to join the Coven, but with this item, all of the members of the Coven can be regular Humanoids. Definitely seems like a Non-Good item (even though not explicitly labeled as such), but that shouldn't bother this character.

Not an item, but if you are a Gnome (which is good for being a Sorcerer anyway), you can get the Threatening Illusion metamagic feat (requires Spell Focus (Illusion), but you might want this feat anyway) to make your spooky Figment Illusions actually threaten enemies, to provide flanking.

Another non-item you might want (unfortunately not compatible with the one above): If you are a Halfling (which is also good for being a Sorcerer anyway), you can take the Creepy Doll alternate racial trait to be creepy yourself -- you take no Size Penalty on Intimidate checks against Humanoids, no matter how much larger they are than you. This would fit thematically with any creepy items you have (including the Grim Lantern and the Iron Collar of the Unbound Coven).

This is a PFS character, so I will never be able to drop 46k on a single item unfortunately. That certainly is a cool and creepy item though.

The character is human, but I took the Racial Heritage feat, so I qualify for all the nifty feats gnomes get for illusions, Effortless Trickery and Threatening Illusion are both part of my build plan, as is Shadow Gambit. :)

The Archives of Nethys page for Horror Adventures lists magic items (including Cephalopod Staff that I temporarily had in my previous message, but which is too expensive for a PFS character). I think the other 2 staves might be still too expensive, but you might be able to find something in there that fits.

Grand Lodge

Magic Staves are almost all super expensive sadly.

I'll have to spend some time flipping through all the item lists in a few books, see if anything stands out. Otherwise, I will just have to carry around non-functional trinkets for flavor :)

^You could make creepy but still functional versions of normally non-creepy equipment, magical and mundane.

By the way, as a Sorcerer, you are proficient in all Simple weapons. A Sickle isn't quite a Scythe (which would be martial), but would still fit thematically, and being both Light and a Trip weapon, would even be somewhat useful at low levels, and it's cheap. For a ranged weapon, a Stingchuck is also Simple and thematically fitting, although since it contains live vermin, the maintenance would be aggravating. Also, you are proficient in the more common types of Crossbows, which leads to Screaming Bolts as being thematically fitting, although expensive, given that they are ammunition, and also not very effective at higher levels.

I was considering choosing some sort of weapon and making it with bone as the special material. Maybe a cestus, so I can have a bony, clawed hand to threaten with, while still having both hands free for casting, etc. The only reason I would even carry a melee weapon is if the party rogue needs and emergency flanking partner, so proficiency really doesn't even matter. My attack bonus is going to be garbage, so I'll probably never hit anything. Maybe I'll carry a creepy bone scythe just for flavor :)

I didn't really find any particularly inspiring magic items, mostly stuff that is either not PFS legal, way too expensive, or just flat out useless for this character. Looks like I'll just have to describe all my gear as having a custom, creepy vibe to it like you said.

The Grim Lantern is kind of cool, but I don't think 5800gp is worth it for a bullseye lantern than can cast the occasional DC11 5d4 burning hands. I'll probably just find a skull or something and put a rock with continual flame or something in it.

^I think Burning Hands is underrated -- it isn't great against most enemies, but if you suddenly find yourself up against a Swarm, it could save your life. Of course, it wouldn't hurt to have a skull with a Continual Flame rock in it for backup illumination.

I don't know what your ability scores are, but at 1st and 2nd levels, you aren't behind a 3/4 BAB character and only -1 relative to a full BAB character, so being proficient with a melee weapon isn't totally irrelevant.

Grand Lodge

I'm pure caster, dumped Str to 8, and don't have room in my feat progression for silly things like finesse. Even if I do manage to hit something, my damage is likely to only be 1-2 points with most weapons I am proficient with, which is why I was originally thinking cestus...it will allow me to the threaten, still leave my hands free for things like wands/rods/potions/spellcasting, and no non-familiar penalty.

Robe of bones

Grand Lodge

Robe of Bones is kinda neat, I might go with that at low levels, until I can afford a Robe of Arcane Heritage, which will be more useful (and I chose the Undead Bloodline, so it will redecorate itself with an undead motif when I wear it)

Add my vote for Robe of Bones (*) followed by Robe of Arcane Heritage -- gets you some real Undead to back up your Illusionary Undead.

(*)Try to stretch it out so that by the time it runs out, you are able to afford the Robe of Arcane Heritage.

Searching for masks, I found another PFS-legal magic item that might be sort of up your alley: Diabolical Masquerade Mask, and it seems fairly useful and not too expensive. I also found some more thematically fitting masks, but they don't have the PFS-legal symbol on them on Archives of Nethys. Also found War Mask of Terror which is PFS-legal, but it is more expensive without being more useful (as far as I can tell) unless you are specializing in use of the actual Intimidate skill.

Grand Lodge

Speaking of masks...There is a unique mask only available on the chronicle sheet for the module 'Masks of the Living God' called 'Mask of Fear' which gives a +5 untyped bonus to Intimidate. I have it on my bloodrager who is built around intimidation. Maybe I'll use one of my replay credits to play that one again with this character.
