Magic Missile Gifted Adept

Rules Questions

The Gifted Adept trait says that the chosen spell manifests at +1 caster level.

If I've chosen Magic Missile, does this mean that I get 2 missiles at 2nd level?

Eyup

2nd level = 3rd level caster for that spell= 2 missiles.

1 3 5 7 9 Level
1 2 3 4 5 missiles

Scarab Sages

Though it's worth noting that once you hit 9th level, the trait will cease to have as much benefit for you. Since Magic Missile can't be intensified, you can never have more than 5 missiles. So it will be a beneficial trait 4 out of your 11 (non-seeker content) levels in PFS. Levels 2, 4, 6, and 8.

It will continue to increase the range that you can use the spell slightly, with it always having 10' more range than it otherwise would. But that's a very small benefit compared to getting extra damage dice.

Sovereign Court

In fact, you can even get up to CL 5 Magic Missile, for 3 missiles, at level 1. Requires you to be Human. You can do it in a few ways, but the best way is as a Tattooed Sorcerer with the Orc bloodline.

Traits: Gifted Adept or Precocious Spellcaster, whatever else
Feats: Spell Focus (Evocation), Human Bonus: Spell Specialization (Magic Missile), Tattooed Sorcerer Bonus: Varisian Tattoo (Evocation)

This way your Magic Missile shoots three missiles, each at 1d4+2.

Excellent. That's what I was hoping. I'm using it with my Psychic. He uses his phonetic amplification to boost the damage die to d6 each time.
