Character Creation Guidance

Advice

Hey everyone, new to the site, old to Pathfinder. I'm looking to build a very specific sort of character for the campaign my DM is running. So far we have a Harbinger (martial maneuver specialist), a Magus (DPS), and I'm looking to add a character who will more or less fill the role of healer when it comes to mechanics, but who would be more like an authority figure (such as police officer or sheriff deputy) otherwise. We have 11 character levels to work with as players, our starting stats are all really high (the DM wants high power in the players), so I'm not too worried about making something effective. But I was wondering, what sort of ideas do all of you have when it comes to making something fit this bill?

Just to clarify I've played every core class nearly 100 times, so I'm looking for something a bit more obscure if anyone has ideas. Our DM is allowing 3PP content so long as if can be found on the PFSRD website. All advice is welcome! Thanks!

TLDR; Want to make a cop-like figure who can heal and martially fight. Please don't answer with "Cleric" I know about it. I'm hoping for something more unique. Thank you!

Healing in combat is never worth it beyond getting it as a swift action. Condition removal somewhat matters but scrolls can cover that moderately well.

Hospitaller Paladin might help you? I know some races get bonus lay on hands healing so that congralutory pat on the back also fixes your broken leg.

You could go dex based snag a buckler and always have a hand free. Then the only stats you care about is dex and charisma.

Doing in combat healing isnt the best course to take.

How about Oracle? It's like a Cleric. It's like a Sorcerer. It's a Sorcerer that casts Divine Spells instead of Arcane Spells. It's Charisma-based, like Sorcerer, so it will be easy to be the party face and an authority figure.

Inquisitor is a cop-like character that casts Divine Spells, including Cure Spells. I think Inquisitor is exactly what you are asking for.

You already have Path of War from DreamScarredPress, look up Psionics.

The Vitalist is a stupidly good healer with some offensive action. He requires authority since he can change healing targets over his collective, but they have to be willing.

I agree that a hospitaler paladin would work well for what you are looking at. I would also suggest taking an oath of charity for even more healing. The extra healing and the ability to change your mercies on a daily basis will allow you to cover condition removal. At 11th level this combination is going to do fine for the healer. About the only thing you will not be able to do is to raise the dead. You could go for ultimate mercy but to me that is not really worth it.

The paladin works well for the healer because they have excellent defenses. A healer who goes down first does not work well as a healer because you need to be up and functioning to heal. Paladins have good HP and AC. They also have the best saves in the game and immunity to fear and at your level charm. They also provide bonuses vs these conditions to nearby allies. This means they are often the last person standing after a battle.

The paladin also fits the concept of authority figure. While just being a paladin does not make you an authority there is nothing that prevents you (or any other character) from being one. Being an authorized authority figure will also help with the paladin’s code. You will still have to follow the code, but all they take them back to town to turn over to the proper authority arguments are a moot point if you are the authority. Being able to detect evil would also be useful for this. It is not a license to kill, but it can give you an idea of who can be trusted.

For race go for a Suli and pick up the trait unscathed. This will give you 7 points of resistance to each of the common energy types. Combined with you saves it will only add to your survivability. The bonus to diplomacy and sense motive will also help with the authority figure aspect.

Go for the VMC life oracle to pick up another pool of channel energy and the legalistic curse. This will give you even more of a bonus to diplomacy and sense motive.

It would also be interesting to see a paladin who was not found abounded in the woods as a child for a change.

Try out the "Oradin" (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?257365-PF-Oradin-Mini-Guide- Or-How-to-be-a-Healbot-minus-the-bot&highlight=Oradin). I am a big fan, and with 11 levels to start from you should have no trouble making a PC that is fun to play.
