So, in the Hammer Fist entry of the Armor Storm Soldier Style, it says that "You treat any unarmed attack you make while wearing heavy or powered armor as being made with a battleglove with an item level equal to or lower than your soldier level..." I know that unarmed strike damage is normally 1d3, but this statement makes me think that that isn't the case here. Does this mean that at level 1, a soldier with this style is treated as wielding a cestus battleglove (item level 1) and deals 1d4 plus stuff, increasing to a powered battleglove's (item level 10) 2d8 damage at level 10, and so on?

And while on the subject, it later says that "These unarmed attacks don’t benefit from other abilities that apply specifically to unarmed attacks (such as the Improved Unarmed Strike feat)." Does this mean that the soldier doesn't get the enhanced damage that they would get from wearing a specific suit of powered armor? If so, then it would be pretty counterintuitive for them to get the proficiency for free and not be able to use that part of it.

In the first thing you are right, your character level says which power glove you are wearing

And for powered armor it is wrong since the damage a powered armor deals is a 'weapon wielded' and not an ability (even less one that applies specifically to unarmed attacks - since you are armed, with the power armor)
