While I am unsure how the Anniversary edition of Curse of the Crimson Throne is selling, I would hazard a suggestion for future Anniversary Editions.
Rather than revise a previous AP into the current edition of the game, how about a hardback mega-adventure that instead contains a new "AP" (or shorter mini-AP equivalent 3-4 volumes) that revisits the area/NPCs of an AP. Given the amount of work needed to rebuild an AP, it would not be any more difficult to write a new AP from whole cloth?
For example, for the 15 year anniversary …
- Second Darkness – given the flaws in this AP, wouldn’t simply writing a new story dealing with Dark Elves be more on useful? I said there would be spoilers.
- Legacy of Fire – Rather than redo this AP, how about another “genie centric” ark.
To strengthen the tie-in, reuse NPCs and Locations from the AP being homaged.

Personally I think what they are doing is fine. One hardback collecting all 6 books and including a small amount of new material is fine, although I wouldn't be offended if they increased it.
As for a new anniversary edition, my vote would go to Kingmaker possibly with some modifications in order to make the whole experience feel more organic.

They've already done a few "revisited" adventures in the ordinary softcover AP format: Shattered Star, Jade Regent, the upcoming Return of the Runelords.
The problem with coming up with a "new" story for a hardcover is that they're already producing two APs a year (plus a third for Starfinder). What you're suggesting would mean them producing three Pathfinder APs a year (plus Starfinder). Look how far behind the Modules line has gotten. They just don't have the time/staff to increase their productivity by 50%.

You're right. I was just seeing the rebuilds that appear in the Anniversary editions as a possible waste of effort.

I would love to see JJ revise Second Darkness because of the flaws.
Especially making standard elves into likeable folk.
What "standard elves?" The elves we meet in Second Darkness include an ekujae exile in Riddleport, some commandoes in the Mierani Forest, and the tippity-toppest of the ruling elite in Kyonin. All exceptional people and not the slightest bit ordinary. The commandoes and Kwava are decent enough folk, and the Winter Council being corrupt is sorta the whole point.
Did you mean to say "meeting any ordinary citizens of Kyonin at all?" Because i could get behind that.

Maybe just clean up any errors and link things a trifle better?
As for the whole elf things, the big blowout is when the party gets mocked, attacked and manipulated in Kyonin. While proving they are right is expected, getting sneered at and even worse, ambushed while some sleep can be a dealbreaker if any of the party dies. Then getting tossed into the illusionary prison and then follow-the-demon can be very annoying. Doing some influence rolls in court might make a good addition where the party starts convincing people and the desperate official sends assassins after them. IMO this would change things to 'OMG! We are totally not with this attack on you' from the original 'My bad, just follow us to this safe house.'
