Warpriest - Divine Commander

Rules Questions

Can a Dwarf with this class use a boar as the animal companion as a mount of the dwarf is Medium and the aboard small?
Just wondering because the option is there.
Would it be a mount? Or an animal companion? Or both?

A divine commander gains the service of a loyal and trusty steed to carry her into battle. This mount functions as a druid’s animal companion, using the divine commander’s level as her effective druid level. The creature must be one that she is capable of riding and must be suitable as a mount. A Medium divine commander can select a camel or a horse. A Small divine commander can select a pony or wolf, but can also select a boar or a dog if she is at least 4th level. (The GM might approve other animals as suitable mounts.)

A boar companion, being Medium at its largest, is not a suitable mount for a Medium rider, so no, a dwarven divine commander may not select a boar.

dire boar might at dm's choice

just not a wereboar.... they would not make good mounts....

There are no animal companion stats for those creatures, so you're in uncharted waters at that point.

a GM can say no to this archtype just as well.

that also said

the monstrous companion and or monstrous mount feat might be worth looking into

dire animal though it is 3rd party

simple advanced

simple large in case your gm wont let you use the dire creature 3rd party. this one increases the size

Undersized mount.

In the Advanced Class Guide.

Undersized mount is what I was thinking too.
It lists boar as small and the Dwarf is medium.
Do there would be negatives to ride it?
