sorcerous template

The Ancestor (unchained) Eidolon may gain the Sorcerer "Simple Class Template" at level four. Cool. The template stipulates (among other things) the following:

  • Select a sorcerer creature’s bloodline when the template is added.
  • gains the bloodline arcana and bloodline powers of its chosen bloodline
So it does not explicitly say the creature gets the actual Bloodline. Does it though?

Yes, that means the creature has a bloodline. What do you want to do with it?

Getting a tumor, actually. Which poses its own problem: the Familiar's level depends on "the level of the class that grants your aberrant bloodline". Which, although indirectly, would be the Summoner's level.

But I doubt any GM would go along with that, given that the template means to represent a first level Sorcerer.

The eidolon is treated as having 1 level of sorcerer for the purposes of bloodline abilities, so the eidolon's tumor familiar would be equivalent to that of a 1st-level alchemist. When the summoner reaches 12th level, it bumps up to that of a 5th-level alchemist, and so on.

Yeah, sorcerer is the class that grants the bloodline, if any.

Yes, I agree. But it could be argued that, since the Eidolon doesn't have any actual class levels as a Sorcerer, the class that actually grants the bloodline is its master's Summoner levels.

...

I wouldn't buy that either, no.
