Halfling Titan Mauler

Advice

Soooo...I kind of want to have a Halfling Titan Mauler as my official backup character for my current campaign. (Seems like a fun character idea. The hit to STR might suck, but it's more for a fun concept, really)

I don't want to play a Bloodrager. I know they're better than barbarians in every way possible, I just don't care.

Rolled for stats:
Str: 17 (18+1-2)
Dex: 16 (14+2)
Con: 16
Int: 15
Wis: 13
Cha: 13 (11+2)

Honestly, besides Race, backstory and class, I've got very few ideas for the guy, especially for any future builds.

Do you have an idea for what rage powers you want to get into?

I could see you building for criticals and pounce, but another fun idea would be exotic weapon proficiency and grabbing the new axe from the adventurer's armory 2 (if allowed in your campaign). It requires 17 str for a small sized character, base 3D6 x3 crit. So imagine toting around a large sized one of those (4D6), then get a friendly caster to enlarge your character / potion of enlarge (6D6), then vital strike (12D6). You could be looking at some crazy single-hit damage, laughing at anything with DR. At level 11 with improved vital strike you're swinging for 18D6+Str/PowerAttack/Rage.

Example feat build would be something like:
1. Power Attack (just carry a greatsword or something til level 3)
3. Exotic Weapon Proficiency: Butcher's Axe
5. Raging Vitality
7. Vital Strike
9. Furious Focus
11. Improved Vital Strike

Rage Powers - whatever fits your fancy. I like Beast totem, but, plenty of good options out there.

Alternate option, since you have not terrible charisma and it fits well thematically for barbs, is go for an intimidation monster - plenty of information out there for that - just google it or something.

If the current campaign feature large opponents regularly the risky striker feat is pretty boss for martial halflings especially for barbarians whose defenses are Damage Reduction and a ton of Hitpoints as opposed to having a high AC

I remember the Titan Mauler halfling I built way back before the bloodrager was even a concept in someone's mind. Alscar was his name, and Earthbreak(er)ing was his game. I didn't make him uber optimized, because I dipped into two-weapon fighting with a halfling sling staff and a spiked gantlet whenever I wasn't ranging, but I have incredibly fond memories of him... Especially killed a (weaker) Troll @ level 1 with a lucky critical hit that dealt 36 damage.

Anyway, I used 4 levels of Titan Mauler and Viking (fighter) the rest of the way to effectively stack my rage and get fighter bonus feats.

Power attack
Risky Striker
Reckless Abandon (rage power)
Two Weapon Fighting
Furious Focus
Vital Strike
Big Game Hunter (feat)
Underfoot (halfling alt racial trait)
Fleet of Foot (halfling alt racial trait)

Those were some of the things I focused on. Thunder and Fang was the ultimate goal but I never got that far.

Anyway, I had 16 STR and 18 DEX starting out. Rage gave me all the extra to hit I needed. I almost NEVER missed because of the Reckless Abandon combined with my boosts to AC against anything I fought larger than myself (which was everything).
